To do this, scorecards are generated based on several key metrics from multiple touchpoints throughout the patient experience. These scorecards are critical in helping executives and clinical managers make informed decisions to enhance patient care continually.

The challenges

Data was captured from multiple touchpoints throughout the patient experience to assess treatment facility operations and quality of care. This data was then input into a manual system to generate scorecards. These scorecards evaluated key metrics for each facility, helping executives and clinical managers make strategic decisions. 

However, this process was slow, inefficient, and required significant manual labor. The team at SeeSaw Labs needed to find a solution that could streamline this process while maintaining the high level of accuracy needed for decision-making.

The vision

SeeSaw Labs began by thoroughly evaluating the existing workflow. They needed to understand the roles and responsibilities of each person involved in the scorecard generation process and the pain points experienced at each stage. Their solution was to completely digitize this workflow, turning what was once a cumbersome manual process into a seamless digital one.

User research and personas

The first step involved extensive research to define all the touchpoints that contributed to generating a facility score. SeeSaw Labs created a journey map to capture the existing process.

They identified what data was collected, who was responsible for collecting it, and how it was input into the existing workflow.

To gain deeper insights, SeeSaw identified seven key users who either had input into or visibility over the process. They developed personas for these users, which included:

Next, SeeSaw Labs visualized a digital workflow to generate a facility performance score. Several task scenarios were created to ensure that the new solution would accommodate all potential situations where data might need to be captured, edited, or utilized for decision-making.
